Designed by Ferruccio Laviani, Geen-A is a specially designed reading light to provide optimal lighting for reading.
Designer Ferruccio Laviani
Brick Color
Material: Thermo-lacquered steel
Dimensions: Ø 41 x H 132 cm
Weight: 12.5 kg
Characteristics: Foot dimmer on cable - Bulbs (not included): 3 x E14 LED 5W max (dimmable)
Made in Italy
Its intermediate height (smaller than a traditional floor lamp) and functional, anti-glare lighting offer visual comfort perfect for reading in an armchair, sofa or bed. Entirely made of steel, it is made up of a set of simple, round and balanced geometric shapes. The large dome that acts as a lampshade is surmounted by a handle that facilitates its movement. The Geen-A reading light has a dimmer that adjusts the intensity of the light. Ferruccio Laviani explains: `` The idea was to create a simple lamp, not too technical, but decorative, and that could also be used in other situations, next to a bed or a table. A bedside table, for example. And indeed, this lamp has a somewhat abnormal height, between a floor lamp and a table lamp. With a simple soul, Geen-A has no special technology. I didn't want those built-in LEDs that you don't know how to replace, but three beautiful bulbs that people still prefer. The lampshade is reminiscent of an oriental headdress, so much so that by Kartell it was immediately renamed "the Chinese girl". The name Geen-A pays homage to the designer's mother, Giacomina, whom she loved to read: "I always remember her with a book in her hand, my mom. And this is almost always the case in photographs. She said if she didn't have anything else she would read the cheese package. So when it came to inventing a name for Kartell's first reading lamp, the name just happened. "
